Scrapbook with funeral notices for Kirksville and surrounding communities from about 1876-1899 and newspaper clippings of obituaries (along with some marriage and birthday notices) from about 1917-1919. Also includes handwritten notes of local deaths. In a folder in the back of the scrapbook, there are a few memorial cards from local funeral homes in from 1943-1945.In some cases, there are handwritten notes about age and cemetery plots.
Marie Turner Harvey Papers
Documents, correspondence and articles covering Marie Turner Harvey's work at Porter Rural School in Adair County, Missouri. Porter School was an internationally recognized "model" of the best in rural education. The collection also includes records from the Porter School.
